About Joanne

This is how I came to work this way.

  • I work relationally, not neutrally.

  • I am trauma informed and developmentally aware.

  • I care: I’m not a blank screen coach or detached observer.

I am Joanne Ostler, a PCC coach based in Aotearoa New Zealand. For close to twenty years, I have walked alongside thoughtful adults through complex transitions, leadership tensions, and quieter crises of meaning. I work as a trusted thinking partner, helping people make sense of where they are and find ways forward that feel sustainable and workable for them.

This way of working is personal for me. I have navigated my own long seasons of transition, low self-worth and confidence, emotional loneliness, and the slow realisation that insight, action and self development alone are, for many, not enough. I have learned, through experience, that even very capable and reflective people need real, attuned human support to make sense of what they are carrying and to move through change with care.

Over the years, I have supported professionals, leaders, and solopreneurs who often look fine on the outside but feel lost, burned out or shaky inside. Many are in midlife or identity transitions, career crossroads, or relational complexity. Many are deeply thoughtful, emotionally aware, and tired of surface level spaces that no longer meet them.

My work is trauma informed and adult development aware. I weave practical tools such as strengths mapping, the Enneagram, and embodiment with a strong emphasis on relationship, presence, and nervous system safety. I do not offer quick fixes or predetermined processes. Instead, I offer a steady space to sit in the messy middle, notice longer arc patterns, and gently experiment with what is emerging next.

Clients often tell me they leave feeling clearer, more grounded, and more at ease in themselves, even when (or especially when) the path ahead is inevitably (and maddeningly) always still uncertain.

I stay in this work because of what becomes possible when people feel genuinely met. Small, well timed shifts can open places that have felt stuck for a long time, especially for deep feelers and for people who have outgrown surface level support but still want resonance, connection, and growth.
